What is the purpose of the image bank?

The image bank helps you communicate about The Hague. Among other things, you will find photos, videos, and fact sheets of the city that fit well with the The Hague brand values.

For whom is the image bank intended?

The image bank is for everyone who communicates about or on behalf of the city. Think of communication experts from the municipality of The Hague, marketers, journalists, and partners from the city. Employees of the municipality also have access to the internal image bank with a separate login. This image bank contains photo and video material for use in communication tools of themes that affect the organization. 

Content and usage

Is the content on the image bank royalty-free?

All content on this image bank may be used without accreditation for the promotion of the city of The Hague. The material may not be used by third parties for commercial purposes. Read more about user rights here.

Note: Accreditation is compulsory if stated in the details accompanying the material. In many cases, there is no compulsory accreditation.

How can I search for content?

There are two ways to search for content.

  • Filters Use the filters on the homepage and on the left-hand side of the search page to view items within a particular theme or area.
  • Search bar Type a search term in the search bar. You can then refine the results using the filters.
Is there any raw video footage available?

Yes, we also offer raw video material. Have you seen a video of which you want to use a part? Send your request to beeldbank@denhaag.nl, including the title and number of the video. We will then let you know what is possible.

Can I download a video at lower resolution?

A lower-resolution file of some videos is available. Send your request to beeldbank@denhaag.nl, stating the title and number of the video. We will then let you know what is possible.

How can I download multiple items at once?

By using favourites. If you 'hover' over the photo, video, or text, a heart appears. If you click on it, you save this contribution as a favourite. 

Then click the green heart at the top right of your screen, and you will see an overview of the selected items. The 'Download' button allows you to download the selection in one go.

How do I save favourites?

If you hover the mouse over the photo, video or text, a heart will appear. Clicking it will save this contribution as a favourite for as long as you stay on the website.

Please note that these will not be kept until a subsequent visit.

How do I access my list of favourites?

The 'green heart' at the top right is the access to your favourites. Please note that these will not be saved until your next visit.

I am looking for a photo on a subject, but it is not there

How can I download content?

Directly from the search results overview page: If you 'hover' over the photo, video, or text, a cloud with an arrow appears. If you click it, you can download the material directly. From a detail page: If you have chosen an item from the search results, you can download the item via the button that looks like a little arrow in a cloud to the right of the item.

We always welcome fresh content that contains the Hague DNA. Content can be submitted via the grey button "Send us your files" at the bottom of this page.

What is meant by the city brand?

Do you communicate on behalf of the city and deal with marketing and acquisition, or do you organise a conference? Then you can use the city brand. The logo of this style consists of the triplet. There are ten different triplets, the best known being The City, The Beach, The Hague. All the necessary elements and guidelines for using the city brand can be found in this image bank.

What is the difference between The Hague image library and the internal image bank?

The Hague image library contains an enormous amount of visual material about The Hague. Think of the latest images of aldermen on a working visit, of municipal projects, etcetera.

The Toolkit The Hague contains a carefully selected collection of visual material that focuses on The Hague's DNA and is not just for the municipal organisation to use.
